The charming girl next door, Divyanka Tripathi feels she has explored enough doing a variety of roles on the small screen post her debut hit show on Zee TV, Banoo Main Teri Dulhann. And now she wants to get back as the lead face of a social drama. In a conversation with Tellychakkar.com, Divyanka reveals what she wants to do next, and what her fans want her to take up as her next project. “I have been getting lot of mails from my fans, and they want to see me in a social drama, something that is issue-based. Many fans have been trying to pass this message to me through social networking sites too (smiles),” states Divyanka. So does it mean that her fans are tired of seeing her in comedy shows? To this, Divyanka immediately butts in and says, “Not at all. They have loved me as the Allahabadi Mrs Sharma (in SAB TV’s Mrs and Mr Sharma Allahabad Wale) and as Chinky (in SAB TV’s Chintu Chinky Aur Ek Badi Si Love Story). But now they have seen enough of my variations and want to see me again as the innocent girl, as they feel this is the role that suits me the most. And frankly speaking, I have not done such shows for a long time now, and I am eager to get back to the usual grind. As an actor, I have explored quite a lot and am satisfied with my growth.” Talking about the comedy genre which she mastered post Dulhann, Divyanka who is presently seen in Sony Entertainment Television’s Comedy Circus as a participant states, “Comedy is a totally different sphere wherein the timing and punch to the dialogue are important. However, in a usual soap, the dialogue delivery can be done at our own pace, by giving more emphasis to the emotional quotient. It’s nice to have played so many comedy characters, like Chinky, Mrs. Sharma etc. And also in Comedy Circus, I play a tawaeef one day, and on the other day I am a reporter, then go on to play a rani etc. And I love the feedback that we get then and there, as it is similar to a stage experience. The comic genre has taught me a different kind of acting altogether.” Ask her about the kind of roles she is looking for, and pats comes the answer, “I am open to all kinds of roles; the only criteria is that it should be a social show. I am looking for a challenging role that has lot of variations, and I am confident that I can carry the show on my back.” Lastly, ask her about marriage and she states, “Not now. I need to make more money to go through the huge expenditure called marriage (smiles). On a serious note, I want to concentrate on my career, and marriage shall wait.” Divyanka, we hope to see you in a social drama soon!!!
