Pretty actress Diya Mukherjee is quite excited these days.
Ask why?
Well, the girl for the first time is essaying a comedy role.
She has been roped in for Bhrantibilas, the upcoming comedy story of Aakash Aath’s Ek Masher Golpo.
Bhrantibilas is a play by Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar, which is based on William Shakespeare's The Comedy of Errors. A Bengali film was made by the same name. It was later remade in Hindi titled Do Dooni Char.
When Tellychakkar.com contacted her to know about her role, Diya shared, “I am playing the role of Bilas, daughter of a businessman. Bilas’s father has died and now she stays with her sister and brother-in-law.”
“It would be shown that her brother-in-law would develop a liking for her. So, why would he start feeling that way and what would be the outcome of his feelings is the story all about,” she added.
The actress for the first time is playing a comedy role. When asked to share her feelings about it, she expressed, “It is quite different from the high pitch drama of a mega serial. It’s fun to play such a role…I am enjoying my work.”
When asked how she is preparing for the role, she replied, “Honestly speaking, I did not get any time for preparation. They confirmed me at the last moment.”
“So, before beginning work, I tried to remember the characters. The very next day I watched the film,” she signed off.
The shooting of the serial has started and will be aired in the month of April.
Diya was last seen in Colors Bangla’s Tumi Ele Tai (Raindrop Productions).
