First it was Ramlaal and now Deeya and Tony's production house DJ's- a creative unit is set to take Badi malkin to Colors. Early this year, it was reported that DJ was coming up with a daily titled Badi Malkin for Zee TV. However, the show was then scrapped.
A year later the production house said to be producing this show with an altered script for Colors.
A reliable source says, “The concept is more or less the same where a poor young village girl gets married to a rich man. This marriage is not out of choice but the rich man opts to marry this girl to protect her dignity. However, there have been few changes in the script. The leads haven’t been finalised. The initial shoot will take place in Jaipur. The show is likely to air in an afternoon slot and will launch early next year.”
When asked why the show couldn’t work with Zee TV, the source replied, “Zee had offered a comparatively low budget and that’s the reason why things didn’t work out with them. Colors have liked the concept and are backing it to the hilt.”
We tried contacting DJ’s Tony Singh and even sent him a text message but there was no reply.
Early this year DJ’s had produced Mere ghar aayi ek nanhi pari for Colors, which was to first come as Ramlaal on 9X. Nanhi pari didn’t enjoy much success and was pulled off air in less than six months. Let’s hope the refined Badi malkin doesn’t suffer the same fate.
