MUMBAI: Yesterday, Swastik Production launched its new historical drama Chandragupta Maurya on Sony Entertainment Television. The producers had roped in TV actress Shefali Sharma as Chadragupta Maurya’s mother, Moora.
However, as per latest developments, the talented Sneha Wagh has replaced Shefali to play Moora’s character.
As per media reports, the reason behind Shefali’s sudden replacement is said to be her unprofessional behaviour.
Apparently, right before the shoot, Shefali wanted to renegotiate on the agreed terms and made unreasonable demands. The production house refused to give in and replaced her overnight.
Sneha will again be seen playing a mother. She had mentioned in one of her earlier interviews that she doesn’t wish to play a mother’s role on TV. She added, ‘I myself don’t know why people keep approaching me for a role of a mother. I think I will have to get a bikini shoot done now (laughs). But I took up this show, as I am fine with playing mother to a young kid.’
When we asked her about being roped in at the last moment and replacing Shefali, she replied, ‘Well, we both had given the look test for this particular character. Eventually, Shefali got selected but due to some reason, she is now out of the show, and the makers roped me in.’
The show features Tarun Khanna as Chanakya, Sourabh Raaj Jain as Dhananand, and Kartikeya Malviya as the young Chandragupta Maurya.
