MUMBAI: Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai is one of a kind show and while the drama had introduced a third angle, that of Ranveer and Sirat’s love story, Karan Kundrra, who played the coveted character of Ranveer marked his exit from the show.

In an exclusive conversation with Karan, he shared his experience shooting for Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai.

Karan said, “It’s been a fantastic set up! It’s a close circuit set up on Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai and DKP is a very big family and they welcome somebody like the family member. Even my farewell was quite eventful, like someone from a family moving out. Talking about Ranveer, he came in with a bang, and the way he marked his exit was also quite high on drama. Ranveer was a very different character, very fiery and full of action. Something like this on a daily soap is very difficult to achieve because on a daily soap you can perform a single character for like 7-8 years and for me to achieve that graph as Ranveer within 4 months was very tremendous. I was very happy! It was very challenging though… I got to do a lot on television which very few people get a chance. The character of Ranveer was a roller coaster ride. In terms of my journey, I had a good time especially when we were shooting in Silvassa in a fantastic big huge resort.

 I got along very well with Mohsin Khan and even better with Shivangi Joshi, for that matter everyone on the set from Niyati Joshi to Sachin Tyagi and Simran Khanna.

Usually, people ask about the bond with actors but we spend equal time with the creators, production team, and the direction team. I would say that the kind of experience I had entering a new production house in my career, because I primarily work with Balaji Telefilms and this is the first time I’ve worked with another production house for a team show or a fiction show was a very good experience for me!”
