TellyChakkar got in touch with Aishwarya and asked her about how she bagged the show, whom she is closest to on the sets, and much more.
What attracted you to the character and how did you bag the role?
When I was offered the role, the one thing that I could connect to was that Laxmi was very soft-spoken, because even in real life, I am very polite and soft-spoken. I had bagged the role by giving an audition and a few mock tests. It was not very difficult as the dialogues were very soft and polite.
When you were told you had to play the lead in a Balaji show, what was your reaction? Did you feel the pressure, as it's a huge responsibility?
A person who dreams to become an actor dreams to work with Balaji. When I decided to become an actor, I also dreamt of working with Ekta Kapoor as we all have grown up seeing her shows. It was a dream come true moment. There wasn’t any pressure as such because my team was so good and they never made me feel it. The only pressure was that I had to be good at my job and give my 100 percent. I didn’t want to make any mistakes, so the pressure was from within and not outside.
Whom are you closest on the sets of the show, and what do you do off sets?
There are three people I am very close to: Akansha, who is our creative head; Smita Ma'am (Neelam), and Rohit. I am actually close to everyone as we all bond like a family, but yes, these three are close to me. I can’t name anyone in particular. Munera and Mansi are like my sisters. The relationship we share is so special.
Off sets, we mostly talk or make some reels. We do have fun on the sets also and don’t realize also how time has passed by.
There is no doubt that Aishwarya is loved by the audience. Her character of Laxmi has become a household name.
