MUMBAI: Over the years, Star Plus has produced some incredible shows and has kept us entertained with a wide range of programming. Following the success of Anupamaa, Ghum Hai Kiskey Pyaar Mein, and Imlie, the channel has launched a new show produced by Cockcrow and Shaika Entertainment.

Kabhi Ittefaq Sey is a love story that is also family-centric, Actor Mehul Nissar plays the role of the very loved Golu aka Chanchal Kulshrestha. His onscreen pairing with Delnaaz Irani is loved by fans a lot and Mehul has been a known face in the industry for a long time. He has worked for over 25 shows to date.

TellyChakkar got in touch with the actor to talk about his passion for acting, things he has learned, and his journey from Hip Hip Hurray to Kabhi Kabhi Ittefaq Sey.

You have been an actor who has played very dynamic roles. What is the one thing that drives your passion for acting?

Acting is a process where you are creating something new. The fact that you are giving a face to the character, to the lines written for you, by the writer, and imagined by the creatives. The fact that every day when you wake up and go to work, you know you are going to end up doing something new and creatively satisfactory keeps your
passion intact about acting.

What made you take up acting as a profession. Was it always your dream?

Since my childhood, I was always inclined towards dramatics. I used to take part in school
plays. Deep down, I always knew that I wanted to be an actor. I pursued and worked
towards it. I bagged my first show Hip Hip Hurray in 1998. God has been kind and I never had to look back.

You’ve had a dynamic career. Have you ever had an experience with any legendary actor that has stayed with you?

A little part of every actor has stayed with me. An actor is always learning. An actor is a work in progress. At the end of the day when you retrospect about what you have shot, and the kind of work you do, there are bits and pieces and the experiences of your co-actor, that you take along with you and it stays in your subconscious mind. You learn from some, you unlearn from some but each person helps you grow as an actor.

From Hip Hip Hurray to Kabhi Kabhi Ittefaq Sey, you’ve had quite a filmography. How has this journey been so far?

It has been a very satisfying and gratifying journey so far. God has been really kind and I feel truly humbled. From Hip Hip Hurray in 1998 to Kabhi Kabhi Ittefaq Sey in 2022, it's been 24 years and It's been a rollercoaster ride, but I am grateful.

'Kabhi Kabhi Ittefaq Sey' stars Yesha Rughani and Manan Joshi in lead roles with Mehul Nisar and Delnaaz Irani also playing pivotal roles in the show.
