In an exclusive interview with Angad Singh Ranyal, we asked the comedian about his reason for agreeing to the show, his preparations and more. Check out what he had to share:

What made you agree to the show?

One of the first introductions for me to the stand-up comedy was the Great Indian Laughter Challenge, knowing that the same team is going to be running the show was one of the major reasons. I have been performing in terms of a live audience and on youtube, Tv was a different challenge altogether. I always wanted to debut with Tv and the format also works with the quarter-finals and semi-finals. As you aren't performing every week so it did excite me to agree to the show.

How different do you think is the television format for you and how challenging is it going to be for you?

It is going to be very challenging, I feel that everyone has an idea of what the tv audience wants. I personally feel that the television audience wants Urban Humour but those who often make such shows think that it wouldn't work. My punchlines and jokes would require work and I am comfortable with Hindi so language isn't an issue. It is all about the content and punchlines that I would have to work on for television. My main job is to make people laugh, it has always been a challenge when I perform for different sectors and audiences.

Have you done any preparations for the show? What can we expect?

In such situations, the safest topic is to go for family humour as everyone would relate to that, the Indian Middle class have similar experiences all over, if I can justify that zone and I am able to have thoughts and punchlines that are unique. The challenge is that there is so much content both Indian and International based on this, to find unique angles is a challenge. People should expect that shock factor with my comedy.
