MUMBAI: &TV is coming up with a unique show titled Ghar Ek Mandir Kripa Agrasal Maharaj Ki and the audience is already excited to watch the actors enthral the viewers. Akshay Mhratre plays the protagonist in the show and in an exclusive conversation with Tellychakkar.com, he opened up about the show and what his character has to offer.

What made you give a nod for the show Ghar Ek Mandir Kripa Agrasen Maharaj Ki?

A couple of things , firstly the character that I was offered, very new and unlikely roles that I have done before and then the story.

Can you tell me something about your character?

Basically this is a Delhi based family and he is the younger son to Kundan Agarwal and he is someone who has different set of rules and he is someone who inspires to be like his father but he has a medical illness and made his weakness his strength and someone who is carefree and someone who is on his phone playing games constantly.

How excited are you to work with Shrenu and during shoots what kind of energy do you share?

It’s fun and it’s been 2 months now that we are shooting here in Jaipur and it’s been great from day 1 she has made me comfortable, she is so good with the work and it’s fun both on and off screen.

Did you explore Jaipur also?

Sadly not, I haven’t got the chance yet, I got a holiday for a day or two but that went to sleep and we went once for lunch and dinner.

Did you try their special dishes?

I tried Laal Maas, Pyaas ki Kachori , Ghewar, Dal Bathi Churma. I love non veg so Laal Maas was really good.

Are you a foodie?

Yes, a big time foodie, everyone on the sets knows that, and before dinner everyone comes to me asking what’s for dinner because I know the menu.

What is your comfort food?

Definitely would be ghar ka khana anyday, I remember I went home for ganpati for 2 days and all I was eating was Varan Bhat and I was very happy with that.

How do you see this show as the turning point of your career?

I don't know what turning point is for me. It is always to do something that is not me so that I can play different shades.

What kind of struggles did you go through to make it in the entertainment industry?

From college I started doing Marathi theatre and then I did a couple of Marathi films and I just randomly gave a audition and things just worked out there, for me because I don’t know anyone from the industry it was always work and that’s where I got to know people and it’s a never ending struggle.
