MUMBAI: Pursuing acting as a profession has never been easy. Long working hours, going on the set everyday with the same dedication and commitment, delivering what you promised and keeping up the energy every single day is definitely not a cake walk.

But many creative minds choose to walk that path and among the many is actor Pratish Vora.

The man has not had an easy growth but somewhere down the line he is creating an impact in the minds of the audience and is paving his way charming the television lovers. Hailing from Rajkot’s theatre background, Pratish, in an exclusive conversation with Tellychakkar.com shared his journey in the industry, his viewpoint on varied subjects related to his profession and how from theatre, he became a hit face in serials among many other things.

Pratish Vora has worked in popular television shows like Romeo and Radhika, Pyaar Ke Papad and Apna Time Bhi Aayega. He also done episodic roles in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah and Crime Patrol. Currently, he is simultaneously juggling his time shooting for Thapki Pyaar Ki 2 on Colors and Apna Time Bhi Ayega on Zee TV.

I wanted to know about your journey in the entertainment industry?

I started in 1997 in college, I was in Rajkot, Gujarat. Academic plays in Rajkot is very famous. I had started from there. After working for 14 years over there in 2004 I decided to come Mumbai. I started searching plays in Gujarati but that didnt happen. I started getting the Gujarati serials. That was my starting career in Mumbai. So I did 2 3 serials one by one,one by one. Then I started Hindi tv shows named Left Right left in which I worked as a stock character for 7 to 8 months. From there my journey started. And for work I didnt have to struggled because somehow I used to get shows and serials. 

Slowly I started to improve my Hindi accent. As everyone knew I had a Gujurati accent. So I improved while I was doing Mahindra and Mahindras in which I had to speak spiritual Hindi. So while doing it I improved my Hindi accent. After that I started to got second lead in serials. This phase of mine had start since 7 years. So further I started to search work in Hindi serial only. I got to know Kanpuriya accent too since I had got 2 months workshop in Kanpur. So I started my journey from north side. I started to move from hindi to north side. I learned UP and Bhihari base while working. After some time I started getting only UP serials as everyone begins to think I was UP base. This was my journey.

Do you think actors are chosen bases to more  good looks ?

I have seen this. But in this budget also affects so that is the reason why they get selected. Although I cannot say anything about looks as I dont have much good looks. I never say I am actor,I say I am a artists. Artists can do any roles they get like comedy,romance,big roles,small roles. It is hard to get a habit of learning new things.

How do you manage to give yourself a personal time?

I rarely get time to interact with her. She understands that I got a hectic schedule. I work 12 to 13 hours a day. She has build her mindset as her husband is in army and he is working hard. She is very understanding.

How is it to shoot with Megha Rai and Fehnaan Khan ?It was very nice and Megha is like my daughter and she behaves like my daughter and I feel too like her father. Before Megha,it was Anushka. Fahmaan is a very happy person. And a great human being.

You are working on two shows simultaneously - Thapki Pyaar Ki season 2 and Apna Time Bhi Aayega, how is that working out for you?

Honestly, I am humbled and juggling between two shows. The channels are different but because it is the same production house, it is working out well. I am grateful to have got this opportunity.
