TellyChakkar got in touch with Jiya who spoke at length about the show and much more.

After proving your acting prowess, what made you take up Good Night India?

Life has been really a surprise for me, careerwise. Good Night India just happened to me. A lot of opportunities that came my way just happened to me. I never really thought that I would play a Haryanvi, Gujarati or a Marathi character.

You are hosting the show for the first time. Did you find it challenging?

I genuinely have stage fear. This is so surprising and life has been challenging. I think over the years I have learned that even if I'm nervous, I know how to handle it. It will not show on my face. Nobody will see my face and say that I look nervous and underconfident. In fact, people have said that I look so confident and that's the time when I was feeling extremely nervous.

How is your experience working with Amit Tandon?

It is amazing. I am very reserved as a person. If I open up to people, then I am the most fun with them. But it takes time for me. Amit made me comfortable the first day itself. It was genuinely very nice of him to call me and speak to me. That made me very comfortable. And now, our chemistry is so good. I can literally talk to him as a buddy. I can also go and hang out with him and his wife as well. They are amazing people. I am really glad to have met him off-set.
