TellyChakkar got in touch with the actress and asked her about how she bagged the role and if she is open to doing any reality shows.

Tell us something about your journey as an actor. Is this what you always wanted to do?

I am an accidental actor. I never imagined I would do theatre, invest all my efforts into acting, and give so many auditions. I always wanted to become a foreign language professor. I opted for different languages while studying, and I did my graduation in the same. I wanted to do my masters in literature.  They had a personality competition in college, in which I had participated. I was very intrigued by that. I had done many shows before where I never had any stage fear, but a personality competition was something different. I participated in it and won the competition.

Someone handling theatre then called me and said that he is looking for a lead actress for a play. I still remember I told him I can’t act and I have never done it before, but he insited that I come down for a audition. I had to play a ghost. I had to write a letter and read it with emotions. When I finished, I asked him how it was. He told me I read it well but to add some emotions in it. So this is how my journey began in the industry. When I won awards for my acting in college, I realised I can act and I enjoyed it.

When you were offered the role, what attracted you towards character. How did you bag the role?

Once my role ended in Wagle Ki Duniya – Nayi Peedhi Naye Kissey, I started to audition for other roles. That’s when I came across this character. Then I came into contact with the makers. I had auditioned for the role previously, so they said I was suitable for Kirti’s character, who is Siddarth’s little sister. I gave the audition, and after a month or so, they called me and told me I have been locked in for the character. I went through the mock tests and the journey began.

The character of Kirti is unlike me. I am an extrovert, but Kirti is an introvert. She is calm and composed. The thrill of playing her attracted me to the character.

In the future, if you were offered a reality show like Bigg Boss or Khatron Ke Khiladi, will you accept the offer? If yes, which one?

Yes, of course. I would love to be a part of a reality show. I love both the shows and I watch them religiously, so choosing one would be difficult.
