MUMBAI: Pratibha Ranta made her debut in the entertainment industry with Zee TV show Qurbaan Hua. It has been a short span of time considering her entry and she is already a famed name.
The way she looks, carries herself with so much grace is indeed one of the best traits of her personality and today, in an exclusive conversation with Tellychakkar.com, Pratibha got chatty about her journey in the world of television..
Tell us something about our journey in the entertainment industry…
When I was in Shimla I knew what I wanted to do. And when I came to Mumbai it was very challenging for me. You have to survive all on your own. So I think that was the major task. My sister was also there with me but after coming, covid took place. When normally people come to work from outside Mumbai, they don't get stuck in such situations and it is a rare one but when I got here I had to face this situation and top of that I had to shoot also. So I think I managed it quite nicely because I have got independent growth while surviving. It was a great journey.
The show is your debut and you bagged a show which is very popular and that too on a popular GEC so how was you feeling at that point of time?
I used to give auditions before Qurbaan Hua. I was a newcomer. I just wanted to work. It doesn’t matter what channel the show is, or how big the project is. We don’t get a chance to choose. And usually people don’t get work so fast so I think I have been lucky when I gave my auditions for Qurbaan Hua, it was a nice and beautiful character. So things have been nice for me.
Did your parents support you to pursue acting?
Well they were not. They were a little sceptical about it. They didn’t know how will I work, how will I would manage things here. Industry is different in television we watch and in real life. So it was difficult and my parents had belief in me. And where I am now is because of my parents.
What do you like most about your character Chahat?
Chahat has been very beautifully made. And her character is becoming stronger in Qurbaan Hua. Every character in the show relies on Chahat. Chahat has a very positive aura around her.
Do you relate yourself with Chahat and what similarities you find in her?
When I play that character I am 90% Pratibha only. I have not searched or googled for Chahat’s role. So it coming from Pratibha only and the situation and name are different. What Chahat does like being positive is Pratibha only. So I think we are both very similar to each other.
Well said Pratibha! (Also Read: EXCLUSIVE! I had auditioned for Chahat and didn’t receive a call for months, feel blessed to have debuted on this show; my director has welcomed me with open arms: Pratibha Ranta aka Chahat of Qurbaan Hua)
