Tell us about your bond with Sumedh Mudgalkar and Mallika Singh

I share a brother-sister bond with Sumedh and Mallika. She is like my elder sister and Sumedh is like my mentor. He always guides me. Whenever we meet casually, he teaches me a lot. I share a very great bond with both of them from the very beginning.

Tell us about your future study plans. How are you currently managing your work and studies?

Currently, I have passed 12th grade. I am looking for colleges. I wanted to do filmmaking and wanted to go to New York for the same but I couldn't go due to the pandemic. So, I am pursuing the same here in Mumbai. After my graduation, I'll go there for post-graduation.

How old were you when you received your first paycheck? What was your reaction?

My first paycheck was when I did India's Best Dramebaaz which was my first show. I was the finalist and was given 1 lac rupees along with an Ipad. I wasn't concerned about the money but only Ipad. I was just 11 years old and wasn't aware much. I just wanted to use that Ipad for playing games.

After doing mythological shows back-to-back, what kind of roles are you looking forward to?

I have done a lot of mythological shows and I don't wish to do it anymore. However, if it's written in my luck, I'll do them. But I want to do some shows having an army background, there are lots of action sequences, I really love those shows. Whenever I see such shows, I feel like doing them.

Your journey has been incredible on the show. How challenging it has got with time? After all, negative roles are quite tedious.

Mythological shows are very difficult to portray. The costumes and everything is very heavy. We have to wear a wig and much more which is quite challenging. It is also very challenging to portray as well because it's different from regular TV shows. From the language to the body language, everything is different. This is why I wanted to play such roles. However, now I am looking forward to the regular shows as well.

Apart from Karmaphal Daata Shani and Radha Krishn, Kartikey has also appeared in Chandragupta Maurya.
