MUMBAI: Popular TV actor Jay Soni is currently seen in Star Bharat's show Sasuraal Genda Phool 2. 

The actor reprised the role of Ishaan Kashyap once again after a decade. 

When the makers announced the second season of Sasuraal Genda Phool 2, the viewers couldn't hold back their excitement. 

With much expectation, the show launched last year in December. 

While the first season had a good run for two years, the viewers had loads of expectations from the second season as well. 

But unfortunately, it could not create the same magic.

Recently, the news about the show wrapping up surfaced on social media leaving everyone surprised. 

The show is being wrapped up within 4 months of its release. 

TellyChakkar got in touch with Jay who plays the lead role in the show. 

The actor spoke about the show going off-air, his future projects, and much more. 

What was your reaction when you came to know that Sasuraal Genda Phool 2 is wrapping up? 

Obviously, no one feels good. I was a little numb. It took time for me to sink in this news. But now we have to accept that the viewers want to see the same slice of life content which we didn't get the audience. Most of the viewers didn't even know that Sasuraal Genda Phool season 2 is back. Our show didn't get that kind of audience. We have to accept that no matter how much we promote it on social media, in the end, it is the number game. 

Now that the show is wrapping up, are you planning to take up your next project or go on a break? 

I never plan to take a break. It's like if a good project will come my way, I will pick it up. I have already shot for a web show and I have to finish its patchwork. If some other project comes which is quite exciting for me, then I will do it. 

The viewers have seen the sweet, innocent, chocolate boy side of yours. They are now willing to see you play a negative character. How open are you to taking up such a role? 

I really want to play a negative character on-screen. I want to say that the makers should see me from a different point of view and cast me for such a character. If a sweet and innocent-looking guy like me plays a negative character, it will definitely create an impact. I am waiting for this kind of role.
