MUMBAI: Shubhashish Jha was last seen in SAB TV's show Jijaji Chhat Parr Koii Hai where he played the role of Jijaji / Jitendra Jamvant Jindal.
The actor was paired opposite popular TV hottie Hiba Nawab who was seen as Connaught Place Sharma aka CP.
The show came back with the second season on public demand and the viewers loved it.
Each and every character was lauded for their performance.
TellyChakkar got in touch with Shubhashish who spoke in length about Jijaji Chhat Parr Koii Hai and much more.
What are you up to these days after Jijiaji Chhat Parr Koii Hai wrapped up? What kind of projects do you want to do?
I am focussing on things that I didn't get time for while I was shooting for the show. I am listening to music, doing meditation, working out, reading, and much more. I want to enjoy this phase as well. It's a nice phase and taking some time off.
Currently, I am very particular about what work to take next. I want to take up a project that excites me and I look forward to doing it.
When did you decide to become an actor?
I decided when I completed my last year in Computer Engineering. First of all, I realised that I wanted to do something else and couldn't see myself in the engineering field. I had got a job but I decided to take up acting. I thought about starting my career in modelling. I took one step at a time. Then after doing that for some time, I felt that I have explored that field and then I decided to go ahead with acting. I came to Mumbai for a project and things worked out for me. I listened to my inner voice and things started falling in place. That's how acting happened. I didn't have that kind of fear but I just wanted to go ahead and try my best. It's about weighing the options and taking the call.
Did you have any alternate career plans before you thought about taking up acting?
Many people suggested me to do this. But I never worked that way. I never wanted a plan B. I was in a way ready to fail. I wanted to find out for myself if acting would work out for me. I believe that if you have an alternate plan you tend to lose your focus on the other plan. I wanted to give my 100% to acting. Eventually, if it wouldn't work in future, I will have the clarity that acting didn't work for me. I can't sail in two boats. This is my way to work. I give my heart and soul in whatever I do. But I make sure I focus on one thing at a time. This was my conscious decision to never have a plan B. I feel if I work hard and dedicate myself, sooner or later, I will get success.
