EXCLUSIVE: A smile is a very integral part of the character; I worked on the body language and the speed of talking as a part of prepping for the character: Yash Sinha on Kyun Rishton Mein Katti Batti

MUMBAI: Yash Sinha has been in the industry for a long time now. He has done some unconventional projects and has been a visual delight to watch.

Currently, he is seen in Zee TV’s Rishton Mein Katti Batti on Zee TV and we must say, we love how he captivated the masses with his acting skills and heartwarming looks. He is surely an eyecandy to the audience. In an exclusive conversation with Tellychakkar.com, Yash spoke about his character in the show, his likes, dislikes, and moments on the set of the show among many other things.

Take a look:

How difficult is it to pull off a role which has so many layers?

It’s a role with a lot of layers and something enjoyable for me and I look forward for roles like this because when you have 2-3 reference points, at one point of time you are doing one thing and there are other things at the back of your mind, you have to go back to bring it out and show it to people and the character has so many layers and he is in love with Subhra and she knows it too but she is married to someone else and she said no when I proposed to her and I said I’ll keep waiting for you and we’ll be best friends and I’ll never cross line, so there is a unique kind of relationship where one person is in love and I think it’s happen with all of us in the college and you draw inferences from there where it all happened to you and it is very interesting for me to do this character and when sir offered me this character then also he said it was a difficult character and he wanted me to do nicely and I hope I am doing justice to it and people are liking it.

When I hear about the character from the writer and director I make a structure in my mind, speaking here of Harsh, my character has got very charming face like a breath of fresh air whenever he enters a room, with his smile everything will lighten up, he would respond to unpleasant thing in very unusual manner, and he is a psychiatrist in the show so he is very understanding. A smile is a very integral part of the character, and the body language, the speed of talking, I worked on it. It’s very different from what I am in real life. It was not difficult, because if writing and direction is good half of the job of actor becomes easy and the team is fantastic.

It is difficult as well as easy, initially when you get this kind of role which is difficult that you have to go down the memory lane and bring back everything and the structure is made in mind that is when it becomes easy.

What made me say yes to the show?

Firstly it’s the story, it was very nice and secondly it’s the character, it is a very heroic character, we work in a female dominated world and many a times happened that I’ve got offered the roles in the past and when I ask what is the story they say the entire story is about the girl and I am the hero just because I am opposite her so I do not understand the concept of lead in this, if you have followed my career and show I did in the past I always did strong roles where I am making things happen in the show, and the third thing is who is making the show, Mr. Arvind Babbal is doing the show, I started with him and I’ve known him for 18-19 years, my first show Awaz Dil Se Dil Tak. I was the protagonist of that show and he was the director so life has come with full circle and now he is the producer and I am working with him as an actor and the fourth thing is the channel. I started my career with Zee, maximum number is with Zee.

You’ve done in Nach Baliye 6 with Amrapali so how open are you exploring more reality shows like Bigg Boss, Khatron Ke Khiladi?

I am very kicked about Khatron Ke Khiladi, if I get to work with it I will, whenever I see it I want to do it, see Bigg Boss I will have to thing considering what project I am doing because I think it is too taxing and it emotionally drains you out so it is a big decision.

Speaking of your personal life what was your first salary?

My first salary was Rs. 2000 per day so what happened was I was offered Awaz Dil Se Dil Tak, so I was called to the office and I went there he was writing something and said there is a hero’s role and you have to do you’ll get 2000rs and I was so happy because Govind Namdev was playing elder brother in the show and I was huge fan of him and the storyline was also amazing, everything was huge.

Who is your best friend in the industry?

Rakesh Paswan he is my best buddy.

What is your comfort food on the sets?

When I shooting I don’t eat much , comfort food must be Daliya Khichdi.

If not an actor what profession would you be?

A chef. I love cooking and it has a lot to do with creativity because as an actor we like to create some things through our emotions and everything and same thing happens with cooking also, you go back down the memory lane and you have eaten something and you have to eat it again but you can’t remember it and then you start experimenting, if I had eaten something abroad and I have to recreate it many times you don’t get same condiments so you get the similar things. When I got this show you go back down the memory lane and try to remember what if it happened with any of your friends or family or read somewhere and then you put your personality into it and put everything together and present it.

Well said, Yash! (Also Read: It's a double century for 'Kyun Rishton Mein Katti Batti')
