Rohit Chandel has always been a charmer, and that’s the role he plays in the show, in the form of Dhaval.
TellyChakkar got in touch with the actor to talk about his acting process, if he was hesitant to do the show, and more!
Is there any pressure to when you sign up to play the leads after a leap?
Actually, there was no pressure at all because I knew I could pull off the show very well, but the only concern was, as I said earlier, key it takes time to accept new cast because they are used to watching the same people and they have formed an attachment to the previous cast. they really loved them. So, the same thing that we spoke about like, I think they started accepting me. They had a good response towards me and I enjoyed that process a lot.
What can we expect from your character in the show moving forward?
Yeah, So I'm that kind of actor who really works hard on my character or characterization I can say. So I don't get mentally satisfied every day when I don't perform well or my character is not performing well or in an artistic way or when I'm not doing artistic things you know. In future I have something in my mind that I should add some of my own creative inputs about this character and I should tell the creative to, you know, show this character in a certain way and I like the scenes which are performance-oriented. I don't like the typical scenes, so I hope I'll work on that soon.
OTT has been an exciting space, with a lot of new genres to experiment with, would you like to explore that space more?
Actually, I've done a web series called Escape Live and the Blind Game is yet to release and I really enjoy that process a lot. I'll be very honest more than television because I get creative satisfaction there because, you know, we get time, we get time to prepare the characters, we get time to prepare the scenes and the quality of work that we do it. But like television is too much quantity than quality, but even a television show is hard to pull off and because the 12 hours of shooting every day is not an easy job, you know? And if you are doing good and we get to live with the character for a long time, even television is a tough job, and making it look easy is the tough difficult job. You know, I enjoy both, but I get creative satisfaction more in films and web series.
Rohit is currently seen playing the role of Dhaval on the show Pandya Store on StarPlus.
