MUMBAI: StarPlus’s daily show, ‘Yeh Hai Chahatein’ has a very loyal fan base who adore Sargun Luthra (Preesha) and Rudraksh (Abrar Qazi) to bits. The show has had a steady run and the audience love the chemistry of their dearest RuSha. The show recently took a generational leap and Abrar and Sargun now play the lead characters as Nayantara and Samrat.

The character of Revati, played by Poorva Gokhale has left a mark as audience really admired the presence of her character in the story.

The character was present in the show even before the leap. It was a surprise to the audience when Revati was brought back to the show right before the leap and also after it.

However, now the character has ended, audience will surely miss Poorva Gokhale playing the role.

Tellychakkar got in touch with actress where she shared some interesting insights.

Yeh Hai Chahatein has become a huge show now. Tell us your experience as you were such a major part of it.

So my character has ended now. The show has been a big show. Even when I had joined, it was a big show. We were working in Tujhse Hai Raabta. While working there, we would hear a lot about YHC as Sonali Jaffer was the writer/producer for both the shows. It was a coincidence that Tujhse Hai Raabta got over and later, I got a call from Balaji Telefilms and this happened. Initially, the character of Revati was supposed to be a cameo only for 3 months. So, during the IPL season, there came the Drishyam track. After 3 months of the role, I was approached again. People had accepted me, so I thought, why not! I mean, things were going to change after the leap.

How was your initial reaction when you were approached for the role?

I was really excited to do it because I was playing a cop. I always wanted to do some kind of character where I get to wear a uniform, be it a police, or a navy or anything like that. It gives you some sense of responsibility and integrity. Since Sonali ma’am was writing the show, I knew that she must have got something good for me.

Who did you bond the most with?

So initially when I started, there were Abrar and Mallika. So, we really bonded well and had some common friends. Mallika and I really bonded well. We would share food, sit together and she would invite me to her make-up room. Abrar and Sargun would always be there but since I was new to the show and they were already a part of it, it took me a little time. Although, when I came back, Mallika had left the show, the whole cast was new and the only people I knew were Abrar and Sargun. However, I never felt like I’m new to the show. The entire team of YHC is fabulous.
