Film body warns Salman Khan of working with Mika Singh ahead of their US gig

MUMBAI: Singer Mika Singh recently landed himself in trouble after performing in Pakistan's Karachi. Considering the tension between the two nations, Mika’s decision to sing in Pakistan has not gone down well with the citizens of India.

He recently faced a ban for performing in Pakistan. The Federation of Western India Cine Employees association (FWICE) will be announcing their decision today after hearing out the singer. In the meantime, the film body has announced that if any artist works with Mika, then he or she too could face a similar ban. According to a report in Mid-Day, the federation made the announcement in reference to an upcoming six-city gig in the US where Salman Khan and Mika are slated to perform.

Mika faced a ban after he performed at the wedding of the daughter of former Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf’s cousin in Karachi. The federation had commented that it was unfortunate that Mika Singh had considered money over the nation's pride. Now, the US show is just a week away and Mika is expected to join the gig in Houston on 28 August.

The show is titled Up, Close and Personal With Salman Khan, and begins next week. Ashok Dubey, general secretary, FWICE, explained to Mid Day, “If we impose a ban, it means all our technicians -- including actors, directors and even spot boys -- will not work with Mika. If someone works with Mika during this ban, say Salman or anyone else, then he too will be banned.” Dubey also added that the ban applies irrespective where the place of work is. On Monday, FWICE had stated that Mika wants to apologise and it was evident in his tweet on Sunday. The singer had tweeted, "As I always have done, I will continue to do good for my society and the people of my Country. JaiHind...#Supportindiansingers #Banpaksitanisingers.”
