The world of social networking can prove to be a both boon and bane. And Gopi Bhalla has learnt it the hard way.
The actor seen in SAB TV’s FIR (Edit II Productions) will soon have to lodge an FIR in real life as he is a victim of cybercrime.
While cybercrimes have already plagued Bollywood celebrities with masqueraders playing around with the emotions of millions of fans, an imposter used Gopi Bhalla as the scapegoat by creating his fake Facebook account recently.
A disturbed Gopi spoke to Tellychakkar.com and informed us, “We were having a normal day shooting and while my co-actor Sandeep Anand was browsing through Facebook, he informed me of somebody using a fake account in my name. Surprised I visited the profile and found out that he was misleading aspiring actors saying that I will give them work.”
Sounding petrified of people indulging in such shams, the actor added, “How can I give aspiring actors work when I myself am an actor? How can people play with the dreams of so many aspirants, I wonder…It is disgusting. “
After discussing with his producer, Sanjay Kohli and co-actors, Gopi decided to give out news so that people do not get carried away and get cheated with what has been posted by the imposter.
When asked about filing a police complaint, he stated, “I have a hectic shoot schedule but as soon as I find some time this week, I will go and lodge a complaint. “
We hope the problem gets solved soon Gopi. Above is the screenshot of the Gopi’s fake Facebook profile.
