Grandmaster Mithun Da talks of his unfulfilled dream in DID 5

Mithun Chakraborty

This weekend, DID 5 contestants are all set to take the audiences around the world with the some impeccable display of international dance styles. The episode packed with loads of fun, masti and dhamaal, will see the three teams exhibit ballroom dance styles like Rumba, Samba, Lyndi Hop and the ceremonial afro dance. But amidst all this, host Jay Bhanushali decided to ask everybody around about their BIG dream in life, something that they have been waiting and longing for. Jay announced that his biggest dream is to replace his ‘buzurg’ (senior) counterpart - Grandmaster Mithun Da and one day claim his chair as the Grandmaster. He described how everyday he dreams of sitting on that big green chair and judging the show but sadly even in that dream, people around on the sets shoo him away from it!

He, then, went on to ask the masters about their dreams and Master Mudassar said, that his childhood was spent in small chawls and Mohallas and he always wanted to buy a house for his mother. By God’s grace and with a lot of hard work, he managed to fulfill this dream some time ago and feels good to see his parents enjoy the luxuries of life. Master Punit expressed his urge to direct a film. He shared how he had given up dancing after college and had started working with a director to assist him on a film. But as luck would have it, the film got shelved and soon after that, he auditioned for DID and the rest is history. However, he still dreams of directing a film and has set a target of two years for himself to direct one in any language.  Master Gaiti, on the other hand, voiced her desire to open an animal shelter home. As a kid, she would take care of street dogs and cows and wondered why they had to survive amidst such difficulty. It was then that she decided that once she grows up, she will start a home for the stray and homeless animals. She is yet to fulfill that wish but knows she will do it soon.

While the masters were expressing their biggest dreams, how could the contestants stay behind? DID is that definitive platform that has given countless talents wings to fly and achieve their dreams. It has made celebrities out of common people like Dharmesh, Shakti, Raghav, Salman and many others. This season as well, the talented contestants have come on the show with dreams, wishes and desires to achieve something big. While most of them dream about becoming famous and supporting their families and providing for them, Vicky Alhat, the lyrical hip-hopper from Pune had an unusual ambition. He shared how he has always dreamt of becoming so famous and popular that he would need to move around with two bodyguards at all times!

It was finally Grand Master Mithun Dada’s turn to share his dream. Everybody assumed that the superstar has accomplished everything in life and obviously has nothing left to achieve. Contrary to this belief, Dada trailed off saying how he had only one dream in life … which still remains unfulfilled! What could this dream possibly be?
