Sheezan spoke on recovering from a difficult past and returning to the entertainment industry in a podcast interview with Soundus Moufakir, another competitor on Khatron Ke Khiladi 13. He also discussed the actress he thinks is overrated during the lighthearted conversation.

When Moufakir questioned Sheezan Khan about the exact moment he decided to get professional help for his mental health, the Tara From Satara actor said that it was actually his family who made the decision because he was living in denial and thought everything was OK. However, he broke down when his family doctor asked about his well-being when he saw him.

Sheezan said, "My doctor asked me 'How are you?' I had answered this several times to others with a lot of conviction and I would say 'I'm fine'. However, two minutes into the conversation with the doctor, I started to cry. I was sobbing my eyes out."

The Jodha Akbar actor said that people don't realize the severity of depression and that the term is used extremely loosely these days. According to him, people shouldn't use the term when going through a breakup. He stated, "Every teenager is depressed these days. Everybody is having anxiety issues. It has become a bloody joke. I feel like slapping them. A fight with your friend is not depression, break-up is not depression, not getting what you want is not depression."

Sheezan responded, "It depends and varies from person to person," when asked how long it takes for someone to feel better after therapy sessions. On the other hand, admitting your mental health issues and willpower contributes to rapid recovery.

He added, "You need to have that thing that you need to get better and get out of that mental space. No doctor or medicines would help you if you, yourself don't want to help yourself. I've read this in a book and this has been told multiple times that nobody can make you happy. It should come from within. It is nobody's job or responsibility to make you happy; you have to do it and I've done that."

Khan was questioned over an overrated actress during a lighthearted rapid-fire interview session. He considered it for a moment before taking Rashmika Mandana's name. He mentions Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt with whom he would have good chemistry.
