Hiten Tejwani is the most humble actor I have ever met, says Shekhar Srivastava

MUMBAI: Tellychakkar loves to treat its avid readers with insights into the lives of people from the entertainment industry. We are back with an EXCLUSIVE interview with Shekhar Srivastava, who has worked as an actor, a casting director, and finally a creative director.

We ask Shekhar about his journey in the TV industry, he says '' My life has not been less than a roller coaster ride, I have faced many ups and downs in my career choices but I am finally at a decisive phase. Since childhood, I dreamt of being an actor and actively participated in theatres, my love for Himesh Reshamiya got me to Mumbai to make my name in acting, and I went onto do several episodes on TV and then took a long gap due to my father's health condition. I was finally back in Mumbai to join my work as an associate casting director, I worked in Four Lion Films production house with Vishal Gupta, who became my mentor and a big support system. I worked day and night for shows like Nazar, Ishqbaaz, Kulfi Kumar Bajewala and innumerable others. I was seeing no growth to my creative self as a casting person, so I made a big switch into the creative field.

Shekhar further tells us '' I started my work as a creative and worked on many shows and advertisements, I feel creatively satisfied being part of the production work, my motto has always been to give my all-time and energy and soul before expecting anything in return. My current one being Gupta Brothers: Chaar Kuware Ganga Kinare has been a memorable and learning experience so far''.

We go on to ask him who he has enjoyed working with the most, he quips'' I think Hiten Tejwani is the Akshay Kumar of telly world, he is always making people smile around him. He is the most humble and positive celebrity I have ever worked with''.

He signs off by saying '' My only advice to any actor who wants to try his hands on acting is, always keep a profession to back upon when you come to Mumbai, this industry is filled with struggles, a person who is confident about his survival can only succeed.''

Well, that was a lesson learnt!
