I always believe in striving hard and am confident of making a comeback after facing a low phase - Nivaan Sen

Nivaan Sen
Actor Nivaan Sen – earlier known by the name Naveen Sen – came into the television industry as a contestant in Zee Cinestars Ki Khoj and won an award too. Later, he went on to be a part of successful shows like Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii, Kasturi, Do Hanson Ka Jodaa et al. But since sometime now he has been away from limelight. However, the actor plans to stage a comeback on TV very soon. Nivaan who celebrated his birthday recently (6 June) with close friends feels that he did not achieve much in the year 2012, and looks forward to the ongoing year (2013) to come back with a bang. Talking to Tellychakkar.com about his ups and downs in the past few years, he stated, “After Do Hanson Ka Jodaa, I had in fact bagged a good role in a SAB TV show, to be produced by Hema Malini. I wanted so very much to be part of the comedy genre and looked forward for this project to take-off. Meanwhile, I was offered a very challenging role in Rajshri Productions’ Jhilmil Sitaaraon Ka Aangan Hoga, but I had to say a ‘no’, as I was waiting for the SAB TV show to roll on. I have a very good association with Kavita Barjatyaji (from Rajshri) and their whole team. And I really felt bad to decline their offer, but felt a bigger platform awaits me. Guess that was a mistake on my part, as the SAB TV show got delayed due to certain reasons. There were days when I used to feel low, considering the fact that I refused an offer coming from a renowned production house like Rajshri.” Nivaan, like every actor, aspires to make it big on the big screen. However, lady luck did not favour him as he shares, “I was signed by Saika Films for a role in their movie. The movie was to be produced by Nishit Verma, who happens to be the Production Assistant with Subhash Ghai. The movie had big names like Mallika Sherawat, Irrfan Khan, Sanjay Mishra in it. I was slated to play a pivotal character, but that project too got delayed. Actor and Director Satish Kaushik who happens to be my mentor from the days of Zee Cinstar Ki Khoj then offered me a role in his upcoming Haryanvi movie, but that did not see the light of the day. On the whole, I made some bad decisions and lost nearly two years of mine. But as they say, ‘’Man becomes wiser after an event’, and I consider myself lucky that way. I always believe in striving hard, and am confident of making a comeback even after facing a low phase.” On the kind of roles that he aspires to do on TV, the actor averred, “I do not believe in the concept of bagging lead roles. I want a good character, a role that is well-defined.” Nivaan is happy as the ‘myth’ that TV actors can never make it big on the big screen has been broken. “I respect the medium of TV and always saw it as a big platform. Today, even stars of Bollywood are seen on TV and this is a big step forward when it comes to the future of Indian television.” ‘Let bygones be bygones’ is what Nivaan wants to say right now, as he looks forward to a fruitful 2013. Last but not the least Nivaan who has recently had a name change stated, “My astrologer advised me to have a name change from Naveen Sen to Nivaan Sen.” Nivaan recently had a blast with his friends on his birthday and his pals got him a cake which read ‘Naveen, Sorry Nivaan Happy Birthday’… On the joyous moment, the actor shared with us, “Yes, we partied hard and it was really funny to cut a cake that had my earlier spelt name as well as the new one.” Nivaan, have a great year ahead!!
