I am 'excited' and 'anxious' at the release of my movie Love Shagun - Manit Joura

Manit Joura

Tall and handsome Manit Joura is excited and looks forward to the release of his movie, Love Shagun.

For Manit, the experience of being part of a movie is not new, as he has earlier been part of movies Band Bajaa Baraat, Rush, Pyaar Se Dekho Zara, his International film The Girl with Individual Emerald, and an untitled film which will release sometime this year.

In Love Shagun which stars Anuj Sachdeva, Manit Joura, Vikram Kochhar and Taran Bajaj, Manit essays the role of Sandy, a very emotional person by heart. A guy with high regards for his friends, Sandy will have a habit of giving everything to his friends.

Talking about his role in the movie, Manit told us, “Sandy is a writer by profession, and always wishes good for his friends. My character has got a very good screen presence and I am excited about its release.”

On the film, he averred, “Love Shagun is not a big film, but a very good film. It is Saandesh Nayak’s first film as director. We have worked really hard on it, and the actors share a very good rapport with each other. The best part is that all the actors were on the same page, and this showed in the chemistry we have on screen. The movie has been shot in Goa, Mumbai, Bhopal, Kolkata.”

Manit feels that his onscreen character is very much like him in real life. “Sandy is very much related to me. So I have tried to be myself all through the film. I have also changed my look for the movie; I have never dressed in the way I have for the movie. Sandy is a complete charmer; he is very comfortable to his surroundings. Though Anuj has a special big story, all the other characters have their story going. The feedback I have got so far is that people have been having their own favourite characters in the movie. And this really explains that we all have an equal part in the movie.”

Manit who has been part of many popular shows on TV is presently playing a cop in Life OK’s Shapath. For a man who has done many a stern roles so far, comedy was an yet attempted genre and he has done his best to get into the skin of his role. “Certainly, this was a new challenge for me. But I knew that all I had to do was to loosen up. I am a bit uptight in real life, and I had to get out of this.”

Talking about the expectations from the movie, he stated, “Well, I am really looking forward to the feedback from people. All I want to hear is that I have done a decent work in it. As of now, I am all set for the premiere. I am excited to wear my tuxedo. Yes, I am anxious, but excited too.”

On his future prospects, he quipped, “I have couple of movie offers, but there is nothing that I have accepted. I really want to do good work in TV. I am waiting for a role that will catch my eye. I am presently doing Shapath, but have been giving them less dates recently, owing to the promotions of my film.”

Lastly, on his Shapath experience, Manit shared, “I like to do Shapath. This experience has made me technically sound, as I have learnt quite a lot with respect to lighting, camera angles, harness acts, dubbing, post effect etc. The best part is that we have new directors coming in; so the ideas are always innovating and the stories churned out are fresh.”

Manit, we wish you luck for your movie...
