KOLKATA: Model-turned-actor Avik says that he is nothing like his character in Colors Bangla’s Jaahanara.
He is playing the role of Ashraf, who is the son of Abdul Khan (Joy Badlani), a rich, influential person.
Avik said about his character, ‘Ashraf Khan has lots of shades. He behaves differently with different people. He hails from an influential Muslim family of Kolkata. He is well educated and has done an MBA from abroad. He is dashing and a spoilt brat to some extent.’
Speaking about how different he is from Ashraf, he said, ‘I am the complete opposite of Ashraf. I neither walk like him nor do I talk or laugh like him. My belief too is completely different. I am a Bengali guy. I grew up playing at different parts of Kolkata and am a flamboyant, happy-go-lucky guy, while Ashraf is intense and serious.’
Avik further stated that his experience of working with the team of Jaahanara has been good so far.
‘I am a newcomer and working with established co-stars. My work experience has been really good. They are very cooperative. They never let me feel that I am a newcomer. I am thankful to Colors Bangla and Baabuda (of Baabu Banik Production) for giving such a role to a fresher like me,’ said the actor.
