We have seen actors from television and Bollywood getting passionate about the game of cricket. However, it’s a rarity for actors to get involved in the fast paced world of bike racing… And here is where the versatile actor Aamir Dalvi excels!! Aamir Dalvi, who has been riding for the past 14 years, is a thorough professional today and takes part in riding competitions as a privateer. And the man is now gearing up to participate in the Pune Invitational Motocross that will be held on 9 June 2012. Talking about his preparation for the event, Aamir in his conversation with Tellychakkar.com says, “I simply love the sport, and it takes me to a new high whenever I am riding. I am getting back after a break of six months, and that makes me more excited. I will be taking part in the Pune Invitational Motocross as a privateer. It will be like the icing on the cake if I manage to win any event there.” When asked about the reason for staying away from the racing circuit, Aamir tells us, “I have my own professional set up, and I spend for all the costs I incur. It’s an expensive proposition when we have to go out and take part in competitions. And there is hardly anything that is organised nearby. Now that the Motocross event is happening in Pune, I can very well take part. I am excited about riding again. My family will be there to cheer me at the event. In fact, my five year old son has his own small biking set up and he enjoys riding it (smiles). There are many who love to get involved in football, cricket etc, but I bet there is no actor around who is passionate about riding bikes like me.” Talking about the Motocross, Aamir says, “The event will have a more or less IPL format with seven teams participating. I will not be a part of any team, but will represent myself. We will be riding on a laid out track which has various obstacles like the 50 ft jump, 20 ft jump etc. The points I accumulate will be added into my individual points. I will be taking part in the Intermediate and Open class events. Most of the guys taking part in the competition are half my age. They are all young kids for whom riding is like bread and butter.” Lastly, talking about his comeback on television, the actor states, “I have not got anything meaty. I always have this feeling that if I don’t get called for a particular show; it only means that the show does not require an actor of my caliber. This feeling really motivates me (smiles).” All the best Aamir for your riding stint!!
