The day has finally arrived for all fans of Rajat Tokas to rejoice.
After a gap of a couple of years, the actor is back to create magic with Star Plus’ Chandra Nandni.
The Balaji Telefilms’ magnum opus daily will see him play the magnificent king Chandragupta Maurya. Paired opposite him is the ever ravishing Shweta Basu Prasad, who will be making a comeback to the field of acting after a long hiatus.
At the day of the launch, Tellychakkar.com reporter asked Ekta Kapoor on whether Rajat was her blue-eyed boy, with her taking him as the lead in her historical grand shows.
Refuting the same, she mentioned that Rajat is the entire industry’s blue-eyed boy, for he is hard working, extremely talented and a treat to work with.
Wanting to know Rajat’s take on Ekta’s comment, we quizzed him on being the TV Czarina’s favourite.
Smilingly, without mincing words he said, “Ekta is my boss and that’s about it. I don’t flatter her for roles or impress her in any way. That’s not my style of working. I try my best to make my producers and channel happy with my performance. If I was the one buttering up people, I wouldn’t have survived for so long. I have never desired the limelight; I let my work talk for me.”
That’s how a majestic king speaks, isn’t it???
Chandra Nandni launches tonight on Star Plus, 8:30 pm.
