I don’t mind people calling me chudail: Reyhna Pandit

Reyhna Pandit

MUMBAI: The phrase ‘dangerous curves ahead’ has never been more alive than in the sexuality of sizzling beauty Reyhna Pandit.

The actress tasted success after playing a vamp’s role as Svetlana in Star Plus’ Ishqbaaaz, and now, she is seen in Zee TV’s supernatural fantasy-based drama Manmohini. Reyhna is playing the role of a witch who has been longing to reunite with her love Rana Sa for 500 years.

TellyChakkar got in touch with the gorgeous actress and asked her how much she is enjoying playing the character of Mohini. She shared, ‘From my character to my look, I am loving every bit of Manmohini. I have never played a character that had an Indian look and talks in desi. Anything that challenges and put me out of my comfort zone, it excites me as an actor.’

We asked her if she considers Mohini as path-breaking character in her career, and she replied, ‘The show is going to be precious to all of us, as the story is very gripping and well-written. The characters are well graphed and defined. After playing Svetlana, I wanted to play a character like Mohini who is totally different. I would thank everyone who could see Mohini in me.’

Do you count yourself lucky as along with playing great roles your look is also given a priority? ‘Yes, I feel truly blessed. It seems universe heard my prayers. I think my character will break a lot of misconception about myself that I can play only a modern girl.’

In addition, your look is often compared to Hina Khan’s Komolika in Kasautii, so do you agree? ‘Our Indian culture is very rich in tradition. If you see any similarity, then there may be, but I don’t see a lot of resemblance. Since the show is based in Rajasthan, women there dress up exactly the same way. So I don’t know about similarity, but my look is well done according to the requirements.’

In the show, you are in love with Rana Sa and wanted to bring him back in your life, but what about in real life? Have you ever been deeply in love for anyone? ‘I feel in today’s time, you fall in love very often. I am a very romantic, obsessive, and possessive lover. I am very single, but that doesn’t mean I don’t want to fall in love. I want to be in love and be loved.’

Actors are usually remembered for their character names. Mouni is still remembered as naagin, Monalisa is these days known as daayan, so after being a part of Nazar, are you ready to be called chudail? ‘Yes, I have no issues. In fact, initially when I had gone for the audition, the show was supposed to be called Chudail. So I knew that people would call me chudail. I don’t mind people calling me chudail. If I justify my role as a chudail, I will be flattered.’

Good luck, Reyhna!
