I don’t sleep at night in the excitement to go back to shoot the next morning: Rajbeer ‘Hatim’ Singh

Rajbeer Singh
With Greek God looks and a sexy physique, Rajbeer Singh has managed to make a mark of his own playing the title role of Hatim in Nikhil Sinha’s The Adventures of Hatim on Life OK. An introvert by nature, it was quite an effort to let the man get talking and open up on his life. In an exclusive chat with Tellychakkar.com, Rajbeer said that playing this character has given him immense joy and that he could not have asked for more. “I am so thrilled playing this character that I can’t even sleep properly at night, in the eagerness to wake up early in the morning and go to the sets and shoot some action sequence (laughs). But seriously speaking, this character is so good that you feel happy even when you have to give that extra effort and hard work,” Rajbeer averred. The actor who has been part of theatre shot to fame with his stint in Lux Perfect Bride, followed by miniscule roles in TV and films. But having bagged this show, there was no looking back for this brawny guy. And his dedication is not here to stop for we got to learn that the actor has worked on his physique quite a lot for this role. Shedding light on the same, Rajbeer revealed, “I did undergo training for the show. Although I knew a bit of martial arts having learnt it as a child, I had to polish my skills a lot for the role of Hatim. I also learnt sword fighting and had to reduce 20 kgs of muscle weight to look the character.” We also learnt that this guy had run all the way to his sets in Naigaon. With a smile on his face, the handsome guy quipped, “I have the stamina to easily run for five hours at a stretch and to reach Naigaon it only took me about three and a half hours. So it’s not a very big deal; it worked as a good means to exercise.” Talking next about the stunts, Rajbeer shared, “Being a sportsman, I am always excited to do stunts and physical activities. And with my character always ready to kick, it’s really fun. I am doing almost all type of stunts like jumping from a height, galloping very fast and jumping with a horse, getting into fist fights, sword fights, weight lifts etc.” And how is the chemistry going with his co-actor Pooja Banerjee? “Pooja is a wonderful actress and very jolly by nature. We have a lot of things in common like both of us are linked to national level sports and are big foodies (smiles). It is fun on the sets with her,” he observed. The actor who likes listening to music, playing sports, going for a swim in his free time had a different take on saas-bahu shows. “I personally don’t find them appealing and can neither relate to them. This is why you haven’t seen me do any of those shows yet. But yes after Hatim if I get a good script, I might just do it,” Rajbeer said. Showering praises on his producer, Rajbeer maintained, “Nikhil sir is more like a family to me now. But he has such immense knowledge about all aspects of making a show visually and creatively strong that you just can’t help but admire his vision. By working with him I have got to learn a lot.” On a parting note, we asked whether this Hatim has anyone special in his life. “Not yet! I am currently focusing on my career and for me love is a beautiful feeling. And it should be so strong that one just loves the other without any condition or expectations,” he answered with a smile. We wish the actor great success.
