“I got so emotionally involved in the scene that I actually started crying,” says Rashmi Gupta about an intense wedding sequence in Sony SAB’s Dhruv Tara

MUMBAI: Mumbai, August 05, 2024: Sony SAB’s ‘Dhruv Tara - Samay Sadi Se Pare’ is an interesting love story of Dhruv (Ishaan Dhawan) and Tara (Riya Sharma) intertwined with time travel. As the show moved from the 17th century to the 19th century, Dhruv Tara has seen various new characters being introduced, paving the way for new twists. One of the new characters introduced was Rashmi Gupta, who portrays the role of Chandra, Tara’s sister on the show.

In the current track, the audiences have been witnessing the wedding celebrations of Chandra and Dhruv. The sequence was brought to life over multiple demanding days of shooting. Since the scenes required Rashmi to wear a heavy lehenga and jewellery, it took a physical toll on her and tested her endurance. In a particularly emotional scene during the wedding, Rashmi was required to shed tears. However, the intensity of the moment overwhelmed her, and she found herself crying uncontrollably in reality. As the cameras stopped rolling, the cast and crew rallied around her, trying to stop her from crying and comforting her with sweet surprises and a rose.

Rashmi Gupta, who essays the role of Chandra, said, "Chandra’s character took me on an emotional rollercoaster. There was a big scene where I had to deceive Tara, telling her I was going to the mandir before marrying Dhruv. It was a long, intense scene with three pages of dialogue, and we had to finish it in one take with just two shots. I got so emotionally involved in the scene that I started crying while delivering my lines and I couldn’t stop. The 'Dhruv Tara' family wrapped me in a warm hug, trying to calm me down and help me get through the overwhelming emotions I felt. The team gave me chocolates and flowers to make me feel better after the scene. I'm truly grateful for such an amazing team.”

Stay Tuned to watch Dhruv Tara- Samay Sadi Se Pare every Monday to Saturday at 8:00 PM only on Sony SAB
