I neither want to be a Gandhi nor a Bhagat Singh; I just want to be a superstar: Ajaz Khan

Ajaz Khan
Ajaz Khan, who made a wild card entry in the just concluded Season 7 of Bigg Boss, turned out to be a true entertainer of this season for he did whatever he could for the 85 cameras in the house to stay busy. In a conversation post his exit from the reality show contest, the Bbuddah... Hoga Terra Baap actor states that his love for Gauahar Khan was mere acting. “I had a triangle love story (Gauahar-Kushal-Ajaz) right in front of me. Plus there were so many cameras. I would have looked bad alone. So, I made a film in the Bigg Boss house that turned out to be a hit,” confesses the actor. Does this mean he never fell for Gauahar? “It wasn’t in love; I just liked her. If you’re locked in a house with a beautiful girl you will naturally be attracted to her,” Ajaz quips. Does it mean he did everything for the camera? “Of course, I am an actor and whatever I do will be for the camera. I entered the house for the camera and my main aim was to show that I am an entertainer. I neither want to be a Gandhi nor Bhagat Singh. I just want to be an actor, a superstar in fact. I want to take our cinema to the next level,” the Kahaani Hamaaray Mahaabhaarat Ki actor observes. Now that’s a big confession. But then, all of this couldn’t get him the trophy or the prize money! Is he disappointed about it? “I had a feeling that I’d win but then I had lesser time than the others though we had the same distance to cover. Most of them had reached way ahead when I started, but then I managed to defeat them all except Tanisha and Gauahar,” he adds. “Both the women were very strong and I am happy for them. I have five sisters and a mother and I respect women a lot. I do flirt but have a lot of respect for them. At the same time, I am extremely happy about the fact that I defeated all the male contestants,” Ajaz informs. What does he have to say about Gauahar’s victory? “Had wished for ‘Khan saab’ (as he fondly calls Gauahar) to win from the bottom of my heart. One needs courage to say ‘I love you’ to someone on National TV and she did. She also stood by that man and moved out of the show for him (Kushal). One needs courage to do something like that on TV,” he answers. Remind him that just before his entry in the house he had spoken about making life difficult for the housemates but he seemed to be a different man on the show. “I had thought that I will go with an agenda of troubling people in there. But then I realised that they were already troubled. So I entertained them. Had it not been for me, they would have died a long time ago,” Ajaz informs. When asked if he sees a future for Kushal and Gauahar’s relationship, he says with a smile, “I trust Gauahar. I know they really love each other. If you don’t love someone, you just can’t say it in front of the world.” And when we asked him to comment on Tanisha and Armaan’s cozy-cozy moments at night he states, “I used to sleep at night so I did not see people doing anything. But maybe it must have been more like it’s ok if the entire world sees us but the housemates shouldn’t.” Did Salman Khan give him any compliment? “Yes, the superstar and the youth icon of today told me that I have a right to be in the film industry as I am a big entertainer. I don’t think I could have asked for anything more than this,” he admits. Which way do you see your career graph going from here? “I see myself doing a lot of Hollywood, Bollywood, Tollywood and all sort of films hereon,” Ajaz quips. Lastly, when we tell him that his comments on Narendra Modi got him a lot of criticism he replied, “All I can say is that Modiji Hindustan ki shaan hai.” We wish you luck with your future projects Ajaz.
