A page from the personal diary of Sayantani Ghosh
Hello everyone, this is Sayantani Ghosh, whom you know as Naagin from the show Naagin…Waadon ki Agniparikshaa on Zee TV. In fact, this was the show that provided a new dimension to my acting skills.
Born in Kolkata, my career in the industry took off soon after I won the Miss Calcutta beauty pageant in 2001 that gave me an exposure to Bengali films.
After working for a few Bengali films, my interest in the field of acting
grew. This is when I diverted myself to doing daily soaps on television.

My first television appearance in Kumkum will always be emotional for me because this was the show that helped me understand the medium. But, for me, the offer of Bigg Boss Season 6 was something which allowed me to show the real Sayantani to the audience at large.
The whole experience of Bigg Boss was pretty enjoyable for me because it was here that I came to know of some of my hidden talents that I too was also not aware of. I had a good rapport with everybody in the house. My love for singing and dancing came to people’s notice when I was in the house. I vividly remember that every time when Salman Khan used to interact with us, he used to make me either dance or sing. This made me happy because by this, my talent got exposed.
For me, the first overnight task given by Bigg Boss, where we had to fill the water tank, was a very difficult experience, personally. I was later assigned to wash around 50 to 60 utensils everyday which was also an achievement for me, because I am a kind of girl who prefers staying in my comfort zone all the time.
The Bigg Boss house did help me change me in many ways, for example my way of talking to people changed drastically only after my stay in the house. My usual practice of taking my parents for granted also changed a lot, because here I realised the importance of them in my life.
I have also become a very good judge of people’s behavior. Now I can easily make out the intentions of different people; in the sense that now I know how to be more patient at times and don’t behave in a very abrupt manner.
The saddest part was that I got evicted very early from the Bigg Boss house (within 20 days). It was something which was not planned; it was very unfortunate. But there was no way out; people in house had to nominate two people, and unfortunately, I was one of the two.
I was considered to be very sweet and simple girl and was slowly getting emotionally attached with the other housemates. I wish that I could stay more in the house so that people could have got to know me better. But, I am happy that my journey in the Bigg Boss house and I left the house with dignity and honour.
Right now, people will soon get to see me in a new reality show Welcome-Baazi Mehmaan Nawaazi Kii… on Life OK. I am sure that people will enjoy the series very much and will be able to relate themselves with the condition of stars when a guest acts like ghost.
On the Bengali front, I have a few Bengali films coming ahead as well as some daily soap on TV.
I think this much is enough for the day. So, here is Sayantani taking your leave with a promise that I will come back with more interesting stuff of my life soon.
