MUMBAI : Aditya Deshmukh’s journey from “minus to limitless,” as he describes it, is nothing short of inspiring. The actor who has been part of shows Ziddi Dil Maane Na, Punnar Vivah and Bade Achhe Lagte Hain, Kasautii Zindagii Kay, has cultivated a strong sense of balance between his professional commitments and personal life, all while staying connected to his roots.
When it comes to preparing for a character, Aditya keeps it straightforward yet impactful. “The process is very simple. Whenever I’m approached for a character, we have an extensive discussion with the creative team to determine where I fit into the role.” Even when faced with roles that don’t feel like a natural fit, he takes on the challenge. “If there are times when I don't feel like I fit into this character, I still try to dive into it. I take inspiration from world cinema, tone and shape it into the character, and make it relatable.”
Aditya draws heavily from Hollywood films and classical acting. “Watching movies is part of my craft and passion. For me, watching movies is like studying as an actor. But yes, it's simple. I just watch films, read books about acting, and explore classical acting.”
Aditya’s humility shines through as he reflects on his journey. “I started from minus—I won’t say I started from zero—I started from minus in my life. So, for me, the struggle, or rather, the uncertainty, is what drives me.” Maintaining balance between fame and personal life is a priority for him. “You may get carried away at times, but balancing fame and home is something I feel truly blessed to be able to do. Being Aditya Deshmukh means living a life that is limitless, without any boundaries or limitations.”
Despite his ambition to achieve greatness, Aditya remains deeply connected to his roots. “I think I will never forget where I’ve come from. No matter how big I become—and I will become one of the greats, as I’m very ambitious—I’ll always stay connected to my roots.” He believes in divine timing and the importance of values instilled by family. “Everything in life is governed by divine timing and written by the divine. Talking about my roots, my upbringing, my family, my values, and the traditions I’ve learned from them keep me grounded.”
Aditya is candid about the challenges of his profession. “This profession has its challenges. There’s always the next struggle, the next location, and the next shoot. That’s the harsh reality of being an actor. There will always be tough situations, but that’s just how life is. You have to keep working on yourself, trust the process, and have faith. Dream big, stay grounded, and be true to who you are. Never change yourself for anyone in your life. Show people who you really are, and stop pretending to be someone you’re not. Just be your authentic self,” he concludes.
