I want to play a superhero: Ashna Kishore

MUMBAI: Who doesn't love and want to be a superhero? And actress Ashna Kishore shares the mutual feeling. She says she wishes to play a superhero someday.

Sharing her love for the fictional warriors, she said, "I love superheroes like Batman, Spider-Man, Hulk, Wonder Woman, Superman, and Black Widow.  I have always been a fan and I love the way they save the world. I always wanted to be or act as a superhero. That's my dream role, or else I would love to be a princess."

Ashna did a full-fledged role in 2015 in Star Plus' drama "Tere Sheher Mein", but she had done an episodic role for "Savdhaan India" in 2013. Sharing her experience of facing the camera for the first time, she said, "That feeling was amazing and cannot be explained in words. I remember I did my first episodic ever back in 2013 in 'Savdhaan India'. Before the shot I was very nervous but the moment my director explained to me how to act, what sort of emotion you have to keep, and then the moment he said 'action' I forgot everything and just performed. Luckily it happened nicely and everyone liked it. That's when I learnt that come what may never get nervous and always focus on your character."

The actress is currently seen as Katori Singh aka Kat in the comedy show "Happu Ki Ultan Paltan". She says making others laugh gives her joy.

Talking about the comedy show, she said, "It has been an amazing experience working in 'Happu Ki Ultan Paltan'. It's my first comedy daily soap, and every day I get to learn new things. My character is very different and I have to speak Hinglish. Also, its not at all easy to make someone laugh as there is a thin line in comedy, you have maintained that and you cannot say cheap things to make someone laugh. Our show is watched by older people to children so we have to maintain that thin line. Making people laugh and smile is the best part and because of  this the show is very close to my heart, and I am glad and blessed that I am doing this and making someone laugh and smile."

Asked if she has a acting master plan going forward, she said, "I don’t have a master plan as such but yes I would love to work on different platforms like OTT which is trending, then I want to try movies as well. Advertisements, music albums, short films, all this is on my wishlist but everything depends on time and God. I am just trying to take it slow as my current focus is 'Happu Ki Ultan Paltan'."

Ashna also shared that as a viewer, she loves to watch mystery, horror, suspense, thriller, romantic, comedy and Bollywood masala, and added, "Recently I have watched 'Sherlock Holmes' and 'Breathe' of Abhishek Bachchan ji and Amit Sadh, I liked it."

She further shared that the shows kept her busy during the lockdown, and continued, "During the lockdown I also did meditation to clear my mind and stay positive, I learnt cooking and singing as I love to sing songs.

Lastly, when asked what inspires her, Ashna said, "My mother is the one person who inspires me in both my real and reel life, she is the only one and I love her so much."
