If Palak is popular, I cannot really help it: Kiku Sharda

Kiku Sharda
The rib-tickling, humorous and entertaining Palak is all propped up to set the stage on fire with her dance and comedy on Colors’ Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa Season 7. The extremely talented and down to earth Kiku Sharda, most loved as Palak on Colors’ Comedy Nights with Kapil, in conversation with Tellychakkar.com talked to us about shaking a leg with the gifted choreographer Kruti Mahesh on Jhalak Dikhla Jaa Season7. To be a part of one of the most popular and watched dance reality shows in India is indeed beyond one’s realm of thought. Well, the feisty Palak absolutely loves it and so does Kiku. He shared, “Palak is indeed excited to be a part of Jhalak this year and since it rhymes with her name (Jhalak-Palak) it makes it all the more special (laughs). There are exceptionally good dancers here and I have an amazing choreographer like Kruti. And now when I (Palak) shake a leg with some of the most amazing dancers, Bittu Sharma, our cranky neighbor is going to burn with jealousy. So yes, I am very excited. ” As much as we deny it, a contestant’s popularity sure influences the voting criteria. So will Palak’s popularity prove to be Kiku’s edge over the other contestants? Here is what an honest Kiku said, “See I am not going to lie. Popularity does play an important role in a format wherein votes decide the fate of contestants. So apart from dancing skills, there are other factors taken into consideration. And now if Palak is popular, I cannot really help it!"(laughs). Jhalak always aims at setting a benchmark, be it in terms of acting, casting, choreography or competition. Kiku agreed saying, “Yes, of course the competition is heavy and there are extremely talented dancers. And many of them have this great desire to win. And since I am working on my other shows simultaneously, it is difficult for me to shuttle between them. ” Kruti supported Kiku saying, “Whenever he is on the sets rehearsing, he gives more than a 110%. His love for dancing comes across. I never have to force him to practice. He is always eager to put his best foot forward.” In her tashanwala message to all her co-contestants and fans Palak said, “Working hard is simply a great virtue. You guys are working really hard. But when you know who is going to be the winner itni mehenat ka kya faayda? (laughs). But on a serious note I am working really hard. So please support us and vote for us.” We wish Kiku and Kruti all the very best for their Jhalak Dikhhla Ja - kuch alag dikhla ja journey! Go Palak!
