MUMBAI: Monali Thakur was a part of Indian Idol season 2 and won several hearts with her excellent singing skill. The ace singer did not make it to the top and was eliminated from the show. But today, years after her hard work, Monali has a number of super hit songs to her credit and has also won a National Award.  

Monali has been doing pretty well in her career and has done playback singing for many top-rated Bollywood divas.

Well, many are not aware that Monali has also tried her hand in acting. The ace singer starred in a Bollywood movie named Lakshmi. The movie released in the year 2014.

The film as directed by Iqbal fame Nagesh Kukunoor and it was about human trafficking and child prostitution. Monali played the role of a 15-year-old girl who gets trapped in it.

Monali is well-known for her songs like Moh Moh Ke Dhaage from Dum Laga Ke Haisha and Sawar Loon from Lootera.
