Intelligent and talented actor Sandeep Baswana calls the people of his entertainment industry shameless, who lack creativity. He also holds them responsible for the current bleak scenario of Indian television.
Strong words, we have to say. Come let’s find out why Sandeep feels like that.
In a recent conversation with Tellychakkar.com, the actor, who is currently essaying the role of Ishwar Rawat in Colors show Udaan (Dhaval Gada) commented, “The main problem with Indian television is that we lack original themes and creative writers. Look at the shows like House of Cards or Friends or Breaking Bad, they are all made for finite series and once the season ends another season is introduced. The way these shows are made, people eagerly waits for the next season.”
“The people of our industry are so shameless that they don’t even bother to try out some original creative plots. They use some copied version of international shows without even trying to Indianize the plot,” added the actor.
Sandeep went on further to add, “I cannot blame the creative people completely as audiences are also equally responsible for the fact. The lack of maturity on the audience’s part is another reason that different type of shows are not being made”.
“The show Mahakumbh on Life OK tried to do something new, but its TRPs are on lower side. Naturally everyone continues with the old formula and produce mundane shows.”
Speaking about his show Udann, Sandeep mentioned, “I appreciate the effort that has been put behind this show and simply hope that it will not turn into a melo-drama series after a year or so.”
So, have you ever planned to do something creative? And the actor said, “Yes I am currently writing a script and one thing I can definitely promise is that, it will be something very original and not be a mere imitation of other’s work.”
Good thought Sandeep and we wish you all the luck for the same.
