It's Amrit Manthan and it's not a sequel to Bidaai

Waseem Mushtaq and Ada Khan
Rajan Shahi’s Director’s Kut which has churned out successful shows like Sapna Babul Ka Bidaai and Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai is readying to launch a new show for Star One after the channel’s reported revamp. Since there was a lot of confusion and facts were misconstrued about the show Rajan clears the air and talks about the upcoming show for the first time on TellyChakkar. “First of all the name of the show is not Amrit Dhara but Amrit Manthan. Ada Khan and Waseem are the leads on the show and there are two other parallel leads. The male parallel lead is a model from Chandigarh and the female parallel lead is from Gujarat who has earlier played small roles. We are currently grooming both of them for the show,” said the director. “Amrit Manthan is about relationships and family bonding. It will basically deal with the importance of family values in today’s society. The story revolves around two boys and two girls.” When asked if his new show is a sequel to Bidaai as reported, Rajan clarified, “It is not a sequel to Bidaai. If I ever make a sequel to the show I will make it with its original cast who made the show successful. The show earned an iconic status when it was on air and even gained a cult status with the way it went off air. I will not cheat the loyal fans of Bidaai and if I ever make a sequel then I will surely make a proud public announcement.” Talking of his other offering, the tentatively tilted Havan that will air on Colors the producer says, “The show is a very unique show and involves a lot of research. Only when you see it will you know why its taking so long making this one.” Going by Shahi’s track record we sure are awaiting his next.
