It's nice to work with Rinku Ji again: Sonal Vengurlekar

MUMBAI: Every new show is like going to a new workplace for an actor, but having a known face makes you feel comfortable. Well, actress Rinku Dhawan and Sonal Vengurlekar are currently portraying a mother-daughter duo in "Gupta Brothers: Chaar Kunwaare From Ganga Kinaare", and this is their second show together. The latter says it's a pleasure to work with the senior actress again.

In the show, while Sonal essays Jaya, Rinku plays her mom Amba. Interestingly in their previous show "Yeh Vaada Raha" they were seen as saas and bahu. Talking about the same, the young actress said, "This is my second show with Rinku Ji. In the previous show, she played my mother-in-law and we were always against each other, but since we are mom and daughter in this one, we have to show that bond and closeness. It's nice to be working with her again. My experience has always been great with her. She is a senior actress and there is so much to learn from her."

This is also the actress' second show with Mahesh Pandey Productions and she said it's like a homecoming. "This is my second show with Mahesh sir. It feels like a family now. The whole team is the same, and Mahesh sir has always treated me like a family. So it feels great, and I feel lucky to be working with him again," Sonal said.

"Gupta Brothers: Chaar Kunwaare From Ganga Kinaare" is a dramedy and this is her first comedy show. Sharing some details on her character, she said, "Jaya is different because this is my first show in the comedy genre. The character is very sweet and bubbly. She is blindly in love with Alok and she can do anything to woo him."

She also asserted that an actor's on-screen character has a good effect on them off-screen too. She said, "Whichever character we play on-screen influences our real life too. In 'Yeh Vaada Raha', I played a very serious role and in real life, I am not like that, so I learned that sometimes you need to be quiet and take things seriously. And now I am doing comedy, so even though I am quite bubbly in real life, this character is teaching me to always stay happy."

The show was earlier scheduled to go on-air in March, however, due to the pandemic and the consequent lockdown it was delayed and the makers used this time to come up with a new storyline. They started shooting from scratch. When asked, if the "Saam Daam Dand Bhed" actress was apprehensive of resuming shoot due to the pandemic, she said, "I was not hesitant to step out to work because of the pandemic. Everyone needed work at that time, so I was very excited to start shooting. I feel lucky that I am still able to work during this difficult time because there are a lot of actors who are still out of work."

And have you adjusted to the new normal? "I think everyone has adapted to the new normal by now. Initially, it was difficult but now I guess everyone has adjusted well to the new normal. We have accepted the reality and we are following all the rules and regulations," Sonal signed off.

Produced by husband-wife duo Madhu Pandey and Mahesh Pandey, "Gupta Brothers: Chaar Kunwaare From Ganga Kinaare" airs on Star Bharat.
