"It's a testing time for new Gopi Bahu", says Rupal Patel

Rashmi Sharma’s Saath Nibhaana Saathiya ruled the roost on Star Plus with its central character of Gopi Bahu, played by Giaa Maanek becoming a house hold name. The show suffered a setback when Giaa had to be replaced due to unavoidable circumstances, following which Devoleena Bhattacharjee got to play the coveted role. It was a known fact that Devoleena was entering fierce waters and had to make a name for herself as Gopi Bahu, and that too in quick time!! But now with the ratings of the show taking a dip, we could not avoid raising the question all over again!! Without much ado, we caught up with Rupal Patel. who essays the role of Kokila in the show, and she averred, “It’s testing time for the new Gopi bahu. Even though we have got a good response for the show after the replacement, it is important for the audience to accept her.” Talking about her rapport with both the girls, Rupal said, “Well, I would say, my rapport with Giaa was great as we had spent a lot of time together on the sets. So it will obviously take time for me to gel with Devoleena. Though we have started interacting, it will take time for us to build a new bonding.” We too hope the new Gopi Bahu/em> and Kokila strike an amazing rapport both on and off the screen!!
