MUMBAI : Jagriti - Ek Nayi Subah, which is situated in the made-up town of Mokshgarh in the Jamtara region of Jharkhand, examines the structural unfairness that the Chitta group must contend with.
The feudal lords who rule the area identify children as criminals from birth, prevent them from receiving an education, make them hunt, and use them for their own purposes.
Jagriti - Ek Nayi Subah, a serial produced by Guroudev Bhalla Productions, chronicles the journey of seven-year-old Jagriti, a strong child from the Chitta community who defies the destiny that has been thrust upon her. Jagriti is a bright, optimistic person who challenges the unfair classification of her people as criminals. Even though her curiosity and sense of justice frequently land her in hot water, she is unwavering in her resolve to confront the unfair system. Since the premiere of the show's trailer, Asmi Deo, who plays Jagriti, has become more well-known.
After an eight-year hiatus, Arya Babbar makes his television comeback as the village's most powerful and wealthy man, Kalikant Thakur.
Arya is not only a talented actor but also ventured into stand-up comedy.
Talking about his stint as a stand-up comedian, Arya shared, “I just wanted to explore my skills and talents. I cannot earn bread by doing just stand-up and that is a known fact. Obviously, I have other means to earn money and run my home. But open mics and stand-ups were basically a gratification and creative satisfaction and I was happy doing that. Having said that, now when I have got an opportunity to play something which gives me creative satisfaction through this show, I am extremely excited about it.
I will keep doing stand-ups and will at least take two days out of my schedule to perform in different cities but yes, my focus would very much be the show.”
