Jay Productions to make a show on 'Women Empowerment' on Sony TV

After giving viewers a crisp and nice tale of Sahiba with Rab Se Sohna Isshq on Zee TV, Kinnari and Jay Mehta’s Jay Productions is now planning an interesting show for Sony Entertainment Television. The show is believed to be on the strong subject of women empowerment, wherein it is the journey of the less-educated mother into spreading her wings of success. A reliable source tells us that actors like Smita Jaykar and yester-year Bollywood actress Padmini Kolhapure have been offered to play the central role of the mother. Sajda fame actress Deblina Chatterjee and Karan Sharma of Pavitra Rishta fame have also given their look tests for the show. When contacted, Smita Jaykar told us, “It is a very interesting role, and I will be privileged to play this role. However, after giving the look test, I have not got any call from them. So I do not know whether I have been finalized or not.” We tried contacting the Producer Kinnari Mehta, but she remained unavailable. Let’s see if Sony TV strikes ‘gold’ with this interesting concept.
