Kamya, how did Ek Tha Deewana happen, and what made you say yes to it?
For me, the story and my connection to it are always crucial. When the team narrated the concept to me, I instantly felt drawn to it. The narrative had everything drama, love, romance, and even a hint of conflict. There was nothing that made me think twice about doing it. I did, however, request that my character shouldn’t be portrayed as a typical vamp, and the makers completely supported that. Once that was clear, everything fell into place beautifully.
You’ve now explored both television and digital platforms. Which do you personally prefer?
I’ve always had a special place in my heart for television—it’s my first love. I enjoy the routine of going to set every day, meeting the same people, wearing the same costumes, and really living the character. That daily connection is something I deeply cherish.
Working on a digital project like this, though, feels like a refreshing change. You shoot for just a few days, the work gets edited quickly, and it’s streaming in no time. It’s like a short, creative breather—but television will always remain my priority.
