Karan Patel reveals why Yeh Hai Mohabattein became a cult show

Karan is one of the most loved stars on television, and today, he is not less than a superstar and has a massive fan following.

MUMBAI : Yeh Hai Mohabbatein was one of the most popular television shows. It starred Divyanka Tripathi and Karan Patel in the lead roles of Ishita and Raman respectively.

The television soap won many hearts for six years before it went off air. The show received a lot of love and appreciation from the audiences.

One of the reasons the show was such a huge success was because of Divyanka and Karan Patel's on-screen chemistry.

Ishita and Raman's 'nok-jhok' on the show had garnered several fans and made the two household names.

Recently, Karan Patel in an interview revelated why Yeh Hai Mohabaatein had become so successful, and one of the reasons was the contrasting personalities the actor had on- and off-screen.

In the video, Karan says that the serial was supposed to last only 150 episodes, but it was liked so much by the audiences that the production took the call of extending it. No one knew it would last for six long years.

He also said that one of the reasons the show was so successful was because of the contrast personalities both he and Divyanka had. He said that they are poles apart. She would on time for the shoot, whereas he would be late. She likes to rehearse and prep for the scene, whereas he is a spontaneous actor.

But they share a great bond off-screen and good friends, and that’s what worked for them on-screen.

Since the show has gone off air, fans miss their favourite Raman and Ishita and demand to see them back on screen.

For almost six years, this couple ruled the television screens and grabbed many awards.
