MUMBAI: Actress Khushboo Kamal’s latest work is a short film titled Kasturi directed by Ashu Chhabra. Throwing more light on this short film Khushboo says,” This is Ashu Chhabra’s first independent film. All the other actors in the film are from theatre and we have shot this film in just 2 days! Shiva - one of the actors in the film - is my friend and when he approached me for the character of Prachi, I immediately loved it and took it up. Kasturi has gone to a couple of film festivals like Rebel Minded where the film went up to the semifinals. It was also an entry in the 9th Jagaran Film Festival. Unfortunately in India, short films are not considered to be good in a commercial space. However, in film festivals, the jury and panel welcome short films with an open mind. For newcomers, talented actors, and directors they get a proper platform and that is very encouraging. And I believe short films always leave a very strong impact on people’s minds. I am more open to short films now. Kasturi is a project which is close to all of us who all have worked so passionately. A lot of hard work has gone in.”

Speaking more about her character Khushboo adds,”Prachi is in love with a guy who is an aspiring actor (Pratik) and has an uncertain career. She is in a dilemma and doesn’t want to hurt him. On the other hand, Prachi’s father is looking for a well-settled groom for her. The writer of the film Naveen Sandhu has written it beautifully and director Ashu Chhabra has conveyed it very well. I am also thankful to my producer Rachna Solanki.” Apart from Khushboo the film stars Shiva Dagar, Yash Chaudhary, and Shalini Hirani. Khushboo Kamal is known for her work in the film Ankur Arora Murder Case and tv shows like Bhajiji Ghar Par Hai.
