MUMBAI : Famous actor Amitabh Bachchan has made an official comeback to host the 16th season of Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC), the renowned quiz program. Big B is renowned for his insightful and amusing hosting, is making a comeback, and the devoted viewers of the TV show are looking forward to it.
According to reports, the actor is demanding an incredible Rs 5 crore for each episode this season, a huge rise over prior seasons.
According to reports, Bachchan has been a part of the show for 24 years, and during its 2000 premiere season, he was paid almost Rs 25 lakh for each episode.
Bachchan's fame increased as KBC continued, which raised his fees. His pay doubled from previous rates by the fourth season, reaching Rs 50 lakh for each episode.
By the sixth season, his fees had reportedly reached between Rs1.5 crore and Rs 2 crore per episode. According to a report in Moneycontrol, in the eighth season, his fees increased to Rs 2 crore per episode. By the ninth season, it had risen to Rs 2.6 crore per episode, and by the 10th season, he was charging Rs 3 crore per episode.
Big B earned a staggering Rs 4-5 crore every episode by the time the quiz show reached its 14th season, despite charging Rs 3.5 crore per episode during seasons 11 to 13.
The most recent season began on August 12 and the first contestant, an HR professional from Bengaluru named Utkarsh Baxi, took home a winning sum of Rs 3.20 lakh.
The makers have incorporated rules like Super Sawaal and Duganastra. For those who are unaware, Super Sawaal is a bonus question that appears after the fifth question, or the first safe stop. There aren't going to be any options or lifelines available. On the other hand, competitors will have the opportunity to apply the Duganastra or the 2x Superpower if they correctly respond.
