KBC 5 opens with a bang

Kaun Banega Crorepati has once again managed to emerge as the favourite reality show among the masses with a dhamaal opening of 5.24 TVR in Delhi, Kolkata and Mumbai as per TAM ratings. The show with its slogan ‘Koi Bhi Insaan Chota Nahi Hota’ and the trademark deep baritone voice of Amitabh Bachchan has become the only non-fiction show to open above 5 TVR this year across all channels. KBC’s good numbers have put Sony to the No 1 position in these 3 metros. Sony is currently ruling the roost with its hit shows namely Bade Acche Lagte Hain, Saas Bina Sasural and now KBC. Anita Kaul Basu, Director of Big Synergy and producer of KBC said that they were expecting the numbers. “These are only flash TAM ratings. The actual ratings will come next week. But we expect that the numbers will touch somewhere around 6 to 7 TVR. We are ecstatic with the response and all the hard work and marketing efforts have finally paid off.
