Himanshu Malhotra turns associate producer
Actor Himanshu Malhotra is all set to release In the Shadows (Gali Guleiyan) soon. The actor, who is the associate producer of the film, says that he has been involved with the film since the beginning. “This opportunity came three years back when a writer and director friend of mine, Dipesh Jain, was looking for help for working on In the shadows. Over time, I got so involved that he suggested that it would be best if I became an associate producer. In the first half of last year, we shot the film and in the second half, we decided to take it to International festivals. We have collaborated with a partner in Germany and London and are releasing it on 7 September,” he says.
Talking about the feedback that he has got for the film, Himanshu says, “The response has been fabulous, everybody is tweeting about it.”
The film stars Manoj Bajpayee, who Himanshu feels is an amazing actor. “He is a fantastic actor and has given a superlative performance in the film. I cannot describe in words the good work that he has done. He admits that it was challenging to portray the character and once you watch the film, you will understand the challenge,” he says.
Meanwhile, Himanshu, too, will be seen in two upcoming films by Rajshri Productions and was also part of Wajah Tum Ho. The actor says that he loved being part of showbiz. “I am completely fascinated by the Indian Film Industry,” he says, adding, “I have always said that television is quantitative and films are qualitative. They take time to make as they are going to be watched on a 75mm screen and so one puts efforts in all possible means to make it worth watching as people are paying to watch. Whereas you watch shows on TV every day and even miss sometimes.”
In fact, Himanshu’s wife Amruta Khanvilkar is also part of showbiz and the actor will be launching her soon. “I would love to, we are planning another project next year and if she's free we would like to have her on board,” he says.
Ask him if he wants to act opposite her in the film, and he says, “Actually no, she feels shy and I would love to direct her so I can understand how she works. I also want to guide her to get the best out of her.”
Himanshu would like to try out different genres as a producer. “I would like to experience all the genres. Dipesh and I have also decided to focus on the music genre. Let’s see how it goes,” he says.
Ravish Dumra roped in for Zee TV’s Aap Ke Aa Jane Se
Zee TV’s popular show Aap Ke Aa Jane Se will see a few new entries post the five years leap!! Arya is shown returning from USA. She will be shown staying with Sahil and not Vedika. Arya will have a boyfriend named Tushar, played by Rookie actor Ravish Dumra.
As per sources, Tushar will be shown as a calm and composed guy genuinely in love with Arya.
Mehul Bhojak to enter Zee TV’s Aap Ke Aa Jaane Se
Actor Mehul Bhojak, who impressed the audience by working in movies like Dhoom and Once Upon A Time In Mumbai, will be back to television. The actor, who was away from TV as he was busy doing regional films, will soon enter Zee TV’s Aap Ke Aa Jaane Se. As per reliable sources, post the leap, Mehul will play the character of Manish, Gauri’s ex-husband. When we buzzed Mehul, he confirmed the news.
Manraj Singh roped in for Zee TV’s Kaleerein
Manraj Singh who was recently seen in the role of Aman in Balaji Telefilms’ Qayamat Ki Raat will now enter Zee TV’s show, Kaleerein. There will be a new guy in Meera’s life. We hear that Manraj will enter as Sunny, a well-read boy who will come in as a suitor for Meera.
